Evelyn holds a BFA in fine art photography and has been a working artist for the past 20 years. After 15 years exhibiting her hand painted photographs, she has for the past 5 years been working exclusively with oil paints on canvas.
Her new body of work, a contemporary approach to barns, houses and landscapes reflect her life with her family at their small weekend farm in North Georgia. ” The farm has helped me to reconnect to the simpler, more important things in life. I find myself very drawn to the humble architectural forms of the time-worn farm buildings that surround us up there. It is as if they have fused with the landscape.”
She paints almost primarily with a palette knife, adding texture with paint, graphite, and scratching into the surface with various tools.
